The American Lung Association has been the leader in lung health issues for over 100 years. Our mission is to prevent lung disease and promote lung health. Today, we fight lung disease in all its forms. Our work is focused in three areas.

Research

Through a nationwide network of researchers, the American Lung Association is working to unlock the door to lifesaving cures and innovative treatments.

Education

We provide educational programs that promote lung health, including:

• Youth smoking prevention programs
• Adult smoking cessation programs
• Asthma management programs for children and adults
• COPD support groups

Advocacy

We work to change policy at federal, state and local levels to protect the lung health of all people.
