Chesapeake Energy

Chesapeake Energy is investing in the American Lung Association’s Clean Air Initiative because of a common concern about air quality. The Clean Air Initiative is an educational campaign that will inform the general public of the importance of air quality, and its impact on lung health, as well as empower individuals to protect our air.

“Partnering with the American Lung Association is a natural fit for us because of our shared concern about air quality. The American Lung Association is a trusted name and a leader on this issue.”
—Aubrey McClendon, Chief Executive Officer of Chesapeake Energy

The funds provided by Chesapeake Energy will be used to offer a matching challenge to individual and corporate donors. Through the $500,000 challenge match program, donors joining the American Lung Association’s Clean Air Initiative will have their contributions matched dollar-for-dollar by Chesapeake Energy. This great opportunity allows donors to double their gifts to the ALACS.

The Clean Air Initiative is a public awareness campaign built on voluntary actions taken across three models of voluntary pollution reduction: In My Home, In My Business, In My Community. The Clean Air Initiative is focused on changing people’s knowledge, attitude and behavior. The goal of this campaign is to reduce disease and mortality caused by poor air quality. Our hope is for healthy lungs for all people.

The American Lung Association of the Central States is delighted to be partnering with Chesapeake Energy on this important public health education campaign.
